Marge Moyer, 93, passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side on Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Carlsbad, Calif. She was born on August 12, l917 in Erie, Pa. daughter of Harry and Nellie Welsh. Raised in Erie, she graduated from Academy in 1935. After graduating from Edinboro State Teacher's College in 1939, she taught elementary school in Erie and later in Oceanside, Calif. Prior to moving to California in 1969, she was an active member of Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church. Along with teaching and raising a family, music was an important and enjoyable part of her life. She was an accomplished pianist with a lovely soprano voice and shared both with children and choral groups through the years. Marge was an absolutely delightful human being who had a smile for everyone and awakened love in all hearts. She had a positive, sunny disposition no matter the circumstances and was sustained throughout her long life by an incredibly strong faith. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, David A. Moyer(1988) and her only sister, Lois Palmquist (Oscar). She is survived by her four children, John Moyer (Liz) of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Carol Helfand (Hal) of Escondido, Calif., Marilyn King (Don) of Green Bay, Wisc., and Tom Moyer (Robin) of Carlsbad, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom were very precious to her. Her family will gather in celebration of her beautiful life. Memorial contributions may be made to The First Presbyterian Church, (Deacons Fund),at 2001 El Camino Real, Oceanside, Calif. 92054 or to Hospice of the North Coast, 5441 Avenida Encinas, Suite A, Carlsbad, Calif. 92008.
