Margarite A. "Peg" Phillips, 90, formerly of Erie and Kane, went to be with her Jesus on Monday, May 30, 2011, having died at the Kane Community Hospital. Born June 15, 1920 in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of Laurence W. and Rose M. Von Zagorski Bushley. On September 20, 1940 in Sackett, she married the love of her life, Merle L. Phillips, who died April 2, 2008. She moved to Sackett at a young age and graduated from DeYoung High School, where she excelled at softball. Both she and her husband accepted Jesus as their Lord as young teenagers and served their Lord during their sixty-eight years of marriage, and were both well-known for their ministry with local youth groups. In their last twenty years, they looked forward to the Creation Festival in Mt. Union and spending their winters in Florida. Mrs. Phillips was Baptist by faith, and was a cook for the Millcreek School District for nineteen years. Surviving are her daughter, Carol (Bill) Biletnikoff of Scotch Hill; grandsons Douglas Biletnikoff of Scotch Hill and Nathaniel Biletnikoff of Friday Harbor, Wash.; plus great grandchildren Dakota, Rianna and Chloe, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, were sisters Beatrice and Geraldine, brother Charles and granddaughter Emily. A service will be held privately at the family's convenience.
