Diane R. (Dede) Wiest, age 55, died suddenly at UPMC Hamot on October 12, 2011. She was born in Erie on May 8, 1956; and was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Jane Turos Wiest. She worked as the office manager for Odyssey Builders, Inc. for 27 years. She was a 1974 graduate of Academy High School. Dede was an avid golfer and enjoyed cooking. She loved being a grandmother (Gigi) and loved spending time with her family and friends, especially at the beach. Survivors include her daughter Jessica Kanash and her husband C.J. of Millcreek; two sisters, Debbie Winghart and her husband Ray of Fairview; Patti Holman and her husband Brian of Erie; two brothers, Paul Daniel Wiest and his wife Becky Jo of Holly Ridge, N.C.; and David Wiest and his wife Betsy of Erie; and two grandchildren Alexandra and Lucas Kanash. Many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Aggie further survive. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Monday at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 816 West 26th Street on Monday at 11 a.m. with Reverend John Detisch presiding.
