Vickie Lynn Allen Roberts Obituary
Vickie Lynn Allen Roberts, age 55, 1620 Plum St., passed away Thursday, December 9, 2011, at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Osceola, Arkansas on May 23, 1956, daughter of Barbara Clayton Allen Jordan of Erie and the late Augusta Allen II. She moved to Erie with her family as a teenager and was a resident of Erie for 40 years. She was a graduate of East High School and had been employed at El Patio in the Housekeeping Dept. and also worked at the Harlington Cleaners. She was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church. Vickie was a very social person who enjoyed cooking, music (Barry White was her favorite singer), and shooting pool. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 40 years, Curtis Roberts of Erie; two sons, Montelle Roberts and Delmar Tate; and a daughter, Shandra Roberts and her son-in-law, "Lumberjack", all of Erie; two brothers, Anthony R. Jefferson (Valene) of Arkansas and Augusta Allen III of Erie; a sister, Vanessa Allen of Erie; 14 grandchildren, Jazzie, Marcqwann, Dvarri, Shadara, Montelle, Bree, Jordan, Rahamon, Salena and Michelle Roberts, Quayshawn, LaKaijah, Deliane and Nijaheem Tate; one great-grandson, Robert B. Wiley IV; cousins, Linda Fay Holman-Smith of Erie and Janann of Arkansas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave. A service will follow at 5 p.m., conducted by Rev. Dr. Gary L. Brown, Sr., Associate Pastor of Community Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
