Floyd A. "Hank" Henry Obituary
Floyd A. "Hank" Henry, age 74, of Summit Twp., went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at UPMC Hamot. He was born on February 19, 1937 in Templeton, Pa., son of the late Rev. Daniel C. and Jessie M. McKain Henry. Floyd retired form GE. He enjoyed golf, shooting pool, camping with his family, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended Summit United Methodist Church and was a member of the Morning Café Club at the Harborcreek McDonald's. He was known for his wit, upbeat outlook on life, and was always a friend to all. Above all, Floyd cherished being with his family. He will always be an inspiration to us as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Stuchell Henry; five children, Susan Verner (Charlie) of Vandergrift, Pa., Cindy Henry of Leechburg, Pa., Allen Henry (Tammy) of Worthington, Pa., David Henry (Victoria) of Wesleyville, and Russell Henry (Cheryl) of Harborcreek; one brother, Robert Henry of Bliss, N.Y.; and one sister, Hulda "Hud" Ramsey of Lakeside, Ohio. Also cherishing his memory are his grandchildren, Shawn Verner, Brian, Mike, Patrick, Brent, Daniel, James, and Alec Henry. Floyd is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Conrad, James, Richard, Russell, Delbert, and Donald Henry and three sisters, Edith Belle, Jessie Rankine, and Flora Priester. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the physicians and nurses involved in Floyd's care at UPMC Hamot over the many years of battling heart disease. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 7 p.m., conducted by Rev. Lee Pomeroy. Further visitation will be held at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 McKean St., Kittanning, PA on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. Private interment will be at Cochran Cemetery.
