Robert L. Coleman, 81, of Ernest, Pa., passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie. A son of the late Russell A. and Olive G. Whitesell Coleman, he was born September 27, 1930 in Grange, Pa. Mr. Coleman was a graduate of Allied Institute of Chicago. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Coleman was a retired Engineer from Robertshaw Controls and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Coleman had also been a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Jean Morrison Coleman, of Ernest, Pa.; two daughters, Sharon Coleman, of Ernest, Pa. and Melinda C. Myers and husband Michael, of Erie; a brother, Leroy Coleman, of Bethel Park, Pa.; two sisters, Ruth Gilmore, of Johnstown, Pa. and Dorothy Mae Fulmer, of Indiana, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. in Indiana, Pa. where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Dr. Daryl Jeffers officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Academy, 11394 Route 286 Hwy E, Clymer, PA 15728.
