Susan Lynn Conners "Susie" Johnson Obituary
Some are taken from this world too early and another great woman has made it to heaven. Susan "Susie" Lynn Conners Johnson, age 52, of North East died on Friday, August 10, 2012 at UPMC Hamot due to a motorcycle accident. On May 17, 1960 in East St. Louis, Illinois Susan was born to the late Thomas R. and Ruth N. Yeargain Conners. In 1979 she graduated Harborcreek High School and was currently, along with her husband Chris, owner and operator of Townline Tavern in North East. One of the greatest treasures in Susan's life was spending time with her three grandchildren and family. Living life to the fullest, Susan enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, country line dancing, bowling, outdoors and cooking. She was a member of A.B.A.T.E, North East Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, and North East American Legion Post 105. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gary A. and Thomas Conners, Jr. Survivors include her best friend and husband of 33 years, Christopher L. Johnson whom she married June 29, 1979; children, Jessica L. Herring (John) of North East and Jacob C. Johnson (Sarah) of Harborcreek; sisters, Karen Conners of North East, Elizabeth Discher (Dan) of North East, Jennifer Conners of Lawrence Park; brothers, Paul Smego (Beverly) of Green Township and Christopher Conners of New Orleans; beloved grandchildren, Conner J. and Steven P. Herring and Rylee A. Johnson; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She left behind two wonderful children who she raised to be fine young adults, a hard working selfless dedicated husband, and three grandchildren who will miss her dearly. She also left lasting memories and imprints in our hearts. Rest in peace Susie, you did great things while you were here on this earth and now you can guide us through the dance steps of life from above. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
