Edward W. "Ed" Hatch, age 58, of Millcreek Township, died Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Fairview Manor. Born in Erie on August 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Robert Francis and Elizabeth Ann (Keller) Hatch. A graduate of Tech Memorial High School, Ed was a truck driver for many years, and most recently, was owner of Fairview Beer Distributor. He was a fan of drag racing and NASCAR, and was a crew member for "funny cars". He enjoyed Cruise-Ins and car shows, and was an associate member of DRAW, (Drag Racing Association of Women) and a member of the Western New York Pontiac Club. Ed liked outdoor grilling and the company of his cat and Gail's dog. Survivors include his sister, Barbara Hatch, of Girard, and his long-time companion, Gail Merritt. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, on Monday from 5 p.m. until the service at 8 p.m., with Rev. Philip Oriole officiating.
