Irene Elizabeth Korchak Golombiewski, age 90, of The Village at Luther Square, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. She was born on February 23, 1922 in Sheffield, Pa., the daughter of the late Andrew L. & Anna WargoKorchak. She was a member of St. James R.C. Church and a former resident of Dufford Terrace Apartments. Irene enjoyed most sports, family get-togethers, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading and Circle-A-Word puzzles. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Golombiewski, after 58 years together; and one brother, Joseph Korchak. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly A. Tomasik (Jack), of Erie, and Shirley J. Eck, of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren, Heather Lipiec (Brian) and Mark Tomasik, GregoryEck, all of Erie, and Jill Myers (Justin), of Grand Prairie, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Richard Lipiec and Julia Myers; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and aides at The Village at Luther Square for the wonderful care Irene received, while residing there over the past three years. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Tuesday, from 3 to 7 p.m., and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. James R.C.
