Lewis J. Brewer of East Springfield, Pa., died at his home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Lewis was born in Newport, Arkansas on March 12, 1946, the son of the late Raymond Louie and Ruth (Garland) Brewer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he retired from General Electric after 33 years of service. Lewis was a member of the VFW Post #4965 and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and spending time with his dog Penny. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra L. Brewer and a brother, Louie Brewer and three sisters, Patty Thomas, Welda Henretty, and Hilda Brewer. Lewis is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Brewer of Kingsville, Ohio and Robert L. Brewer of Conneaut, Ohio. He is also survived by three daughters, Tammy L. Kinnear of West Springfield, Pa., Cindy M. Brewer of Conneaut, Ohio and Heidi A. Brewer of East Springfield, Pa. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home at 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa. from 6 to 8 p.m. on November 2, 2012 and are invited to attend a Memorial Luncheon in memory of Lewis at the VFW Post #4965 in West Springfield on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Federated Church, P.O. Box 158, East Springfield, PA 16411.
