John L. Williams, age 62, of Erie, died at the Erie VA Medical Center, Saturday, November 3, 2012. Born in Hazard, Ky., June 16, 1950, he was a son of the late O'neal and Vatra (Razor) Williams. John was enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the war in Vietnam, where he specialized in computers and electronics. He later worked in the greater Washington, D.C. area as a master tradesman, building escalators and elevators. He was a member of the Elk Gem City Lodge #328 and the American Legion Post #700. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and loved fishing, music and dancing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Monzella Williams. Survivors include his cherished loved one, Marlene Adams, of Erie; three brothers, Douglas, Theodore and Fredrick Williams; two sisters, Elizabeth and Deborah Williams; four daughters, Jennifer, Heather, Vida and Tanya; a son, Jeremy and numerous grandchildren. He will be missed by William and Lamont McBride and Deaprina McClatchey, all of Erie. Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 E. 38th St., Wednesday from 10 a.m. until a short service by the American Legion Post #700 at noon and a funeral service officiated by Pastor David Fugate immediately following. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the VA Hospice, Erie VA Medical Center, 135 E. 38th St., Erie, PA 16504.
