Carlos J. Velez Delgado, 42, of Buffalo, died Saturday, November 3, 2012, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, November 11, 1969, a son of Doris Delgado Velez and the late Fidel Velez Sr. Carlos served in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf War and went on to work as an auditor with the state of New York. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother Fidel Velez Jr. In addition to his mother, survivors include two sisters, Blanca I. Velez and her fiance Jeff McAninch of Erie and Frances Velez of Puerto Rico; three brothers, Jose A. Velez and his wife Elizabeth of Erie, Juan M. Velez of Erie, and Jaime Velez of Puerto Rico; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends in Buffalo. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
