Alice Elisabeth Schick DiFrancisco Carlson Brien, age 75, formerly of Erie, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Erie, February 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Cyril and Jeanne Morton Schick. Alice was a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Home and a child care provider. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church in Port Orange, Florida and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, where she sang in their choirs. She was a volunteer for the religious education program at Our Lady of Hope Church, Camp Friendship in Mississippi and the PA Soldiers' & Sailors' Home, Erie. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by a twin brother, Frederick Schick; her first husband, Michael DiFrancisco; her second husband, Robert Carlson, her third husband, Marcel "Lefty" Brien; and a stepson, Jeff Carlson. Survivors include her children, Michael E. DiFrancisco, wife Elizabeth, Julia DiFrancisco Herr, husband Tim, Joseph J. DiFrancisco, wife Lisa and Robert M. DiFrancisco, wife Robin; her stepchildren, Dennis Carlson, wife Liz, Lisa Carlson Mattera, Robert and Jim Burnett, Lisa, Donna, Guy and Robert Brien. Thirty-seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Judith Jepson, husband Richard and Mary Schick, both of Erie, one niece and two nephews, also survive. Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38 Street, on Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend services there on Monday at 12:15 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
