Royce Henry Horn, age 78, of Franklin Township, Edinboro, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, after a short illness. He was born in Franklin Township on September 7, 1934, the son of the late James H. and Hazel A. Root Horn. He married Dianne Harned on March 31, 1956, and she survives. Royce was employed by Russell Standard Corporation from 1970 until his retirement in 2010. He worked as a superintendent of a road construction crew and also as a sales representative in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. In the years prior, Royce had been employed by Trumbull Construction, working on the Interstate 79 construction, Roy S. Carlson Garage in Edinboro, Rodak Pump Company, Lakeshore Lumber, and Penn Union. Living on the family farm, Royce also farmed until 1978, many of those years in partnership with his father. Royce was a faithful member of McLane Church in Edinboro and had served on the Church Board and as a volunteer on many projects. He regularly participated in his small group Bible study, and he enjoyed greeting people while serving as an usher for church services. Royce served in the United States Army from 1954-56, and was a member of the IOOF Lodge #510, Koinonia of Erie County K-139, and the National Farmers Organization. In addition to his wife, Dianne Harned Horn, Royce is survived by two sons -- Stephen H. Horn and his wife Kathleen of Syracuse, N.Y., and Thomas G. Horn and his wife Angela Martin-Horn of Edinboro; one granddaughter -- Mallory Horn; a sister -- Geraldine Whitman of Mill Village; two brothers -- Finley Horn of Edinboro and Dorian Horn of Youngsville, Pa. Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Road, Edinboro, on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev.
