William Earl Becker age 88 formerly of Niagara Village, passed away on Saturday December 1, 2012 at Sarah A. Reed Nursing Facility. He was born in Erie on January 21, 1924 a son of the late Harry and Anna Thibaut Becker Steimer. Bill was a graduate of Academy High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during WW II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his discharge, he went back to work at GE in the Apprentice program where he became a Master Electrician and eventually retired from a management position after 42 years of service. Bill was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Tyrian Lodge-Commonwealth of Pennsylvania F & AM #362, Zem Zem Shrine AASR Valley of Erie, he was a past Monarch of the Erepa Grotto Club and also held social memberships in the Zukor and Elks Clubs. He loved gardening, stamp collecting, playing cards, and going to camp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Sachrison Becker in 1983 and two brothers; Harrison and Robert Becker. He is survived by his wife E. Katheleen Rockwell Becker, two daughters; Nancy (Robert) Benacci and Sally (Mark) Allen, stepson, David (Cheryl) Rockwell, grandchildren; First Lieutenant United States Army Stephen (Christy) Benacci, Cheryl (Evan) Andrae and Christopher and Rebecca Allen, great-grandchildren; Bailey, Zachary, Summer and Emmett and numerous nieces and nephews. Erie, PA 16504 on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., with Masonic Services being held on Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning at Luther Memorial Church. Interment with full military honors will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
