Leland J. Bailey, Jr., age 82, of Erie, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012, at Presque Isle Rehab & Nursing Center. He was born November 1, 1930 in Erie, son of the late Leland and Margaret Ehrheart Bailey. Leland was a 1948 graduate of Cathedral Prep and a 1980 graduate of Gannon College. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Leland was also a General Electric Apprentice Graduate, Tool and Die Maker, and retired as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering on January 1, 1991 with 42 years of service. He was a member of St. James R.C. Church, East Erie Turners, Siebenbuerger Club, G.E. Quarter Century Club and GEER. Leland was a Duplicate Bridge Silver Life Master, and loved pinochle, bowling, bingo, and was a world traveler. Leland is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine Bailey; two sons, Barry Bailey (Justina) of Erie and Bruce Bailey (Marian) of Yorktown, Va.; nine grandchildren, Marc, Daniel, Todd, Joseph (Darlene), Chelsea, Ian, and Brent Bailey, Jennifer Hannold (Matthew) and Janis Englert (Brian); five great-grandchildren, Nathan and Breanna Englert, Amber and Kira Bailey, and Conner Hannold; former daughter-in-law, Sharon Bailey Drayer; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Bailey; two sisters, Marlene Orsefski and Joanne Cooper; and a great-grandson, Patrick Papale. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C.
