Joanne (Schneider) Trumbull, 84, of East Granby, Conn., wife of the late William B. Trumbull Sr., died peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2012. She was born on August 26, 1928, in Erie, Pa., daughter to the late Joseph and Thelma (Nolan) Schneider. Joanne grew up in Erie, Pa., and was a graduate of The Villa Maria Academy and Villa College. She and William met in Erie, Pa. and together settled in East Granby where they were married for over 50 years. She worked for the East Granby Town Council, the Public School system and went on to work as a Pension Manager for CIGNA for over 28 years. Joanne was a talented woman who excelled as an artist and especially as a designer, both in clothing and interior decorating. Joanne was more importantly a compassionate soul who was generous and always made others feel that they were the most important person in the room. A kind and devoted, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and a lot of fun to boot! She will be greatly missed by all. She leaves her children, William B. Trumbull Jr., and Barbara Trumbull of North Ogden, Utah, and their children, Christopher, Alexandria, and Cole, Thomas Trumbull of Granby, and Alison Eckels and her husband David of East Hampton and their children, Connor and Maura; her brother, Joseph D. Schneider and his wife Helen of Erie, Pa. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Esser of Jupiter, Fla. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012, 10 a.m., at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7 Maple Street, Tariffville, Conn. Burial will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Covenant House Headquarters, 461 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10001 and or , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
