Carl J. DeDionisio, age 88, of Erie, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at UPMC Hamot, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 17, 1924 in Erie, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Caparaso) DeDionisio. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Carl was an employee of Erie Plating Company for over 40 years and for the last 20 years was proud to be a courier for his daughter's business, Medical Transcription Services. The most important thing to Carl was his family who he loved very much. He enjoyed fishing trips with his brothers and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Bottoni) DeDionisio, a grandson, Michael Vorberger, a sister, Mary (DeDionisio) Woods and brothers, Frank and Benjamin DeDionisio. Survivors include his three daughters, Mary Brown and her husband David, Carol Luczynski and her husband Joe, Phyllis DiPlacido and her husband Mark, all of Erie; a brother, Phil DeDionisio and his wife Mary Jo of Florida; and sister-in-law, Barbara Rector. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michele Cunningham and friend Phil Ventrello, Lori Kruszewski and her husband Ken, Kelly Miller and her husband Tim, Joseph Placidi, Carla Grapes and her husband Reid. He is further survived by eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and to attend prayers there Wednesday at 10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:30 a.m. The committal sevice will follow at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
