Chester Spiro (Chet) Fraschetti, 82, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. Chet was born September 4, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Peter and Rose Wurst Fraschetti. Chester grew up in the Erie area, where he played sports and pursued his interests in art and music. Upon graduating from Academy High School, Chester served in the United States Navy and was aboard the USS Coral Sea. On May 1, 1953, Chet married the former Martha Elisabeth Mueller, of Liebenstadt, Germany. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage, until her passing on April 27, 2007. For many years, Chet sang with the Erie Philharmonic and the Danish Choristers. He would often be found picking up an instrument and playing a tune. His passion for art was known by all, and he spent his free time making crafts, woodworking, and tinkering in his shed. Chet was a loving and compassionate man, who loved his family and friends to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched. Chester is survived by his daughter, Darlene and her husband John Boyd, and his son, Dale Fraschetti, all of Springboro, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Jamie Boyd, of Seoul, South Korea, Jon Paul Boyd, Danielle Fraschetti, Devin Wygant, Dale Fraschetti, Jr., all of Erie, Nicole Fraschetti, of Lake City, Joseph Fraschetti and Jonathan Fraschetti, both of Erie; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Peter A. Fraschetti, of Delray Beach, Fla. The family would like to express a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Pleasant Ridge Manor West, and Emergycare, for the care shown to Chester during his stay.
