Eddie Jones, age 84, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Golden Living Center - Walnut Creek. He was born in Greenville, Ala. on December 27, 1927, son of the late Fred Jones and Sally Crenshaw Jones Boggan. He was a resident of Erie for 60 years. He retired from Skinner Engine Co. after 32 years of service. Eddie enjoyed reading, traveling and watching all sports on television. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Boggan and C.H. Jones, and a sister, Gladys Womack. He leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Willie Boggan (Joann) of Erie; four sisters, Sally Smart of Erie, Coranda Toliber of Greenville, Ala., Mildred Crowe of Pensacola, Fla. and Emmie Harris (Cleo) of Erie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A quiet hour will be observed on Monday, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 155 E. 21st St. A service will follow at 12 p.m., conducted by Rev. Michael Cole. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Funeralization is by House of Law Inc., 9406 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, Pa.
