Donald E. "Don" Hiles, age 84, of Wesleyville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 6, 1928, son of the late James B. and Esther ClaymanHiles. Don graduated from Wesleyville High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked at Lord Corporation and then General Electric until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir, as well as with the Symphonic Singers, the Erie Philharmonic and Sing Erie Sing. He was a member of Perry Keystone Lodge #392 F. & A.M., was a Dad advisor for the Erie Chapter Order of DeMolay, and a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor M. Wertz Hiles, who passed away on January 1, 2013; and three brothers, Walter, James and Harry Hiles. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Holverson (Don) of Austinburg, Ohio and Dianne Tabor (Jeff) of Greenwood, Ind.; two sons, Walter R. Hiles and Warren E. Hiles (Debbie) all of Erie; nine grandchildren, Sean Stoy, Eric and Heather Carr, Jamie Luchs, Amy, Michael, Stacey and Jessica Hiles, and Illyanna Tabor; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Monday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Jeffrey Piccirilli, Pastor, Messiah Lutheran Church. Private interment. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 135 East 38th St., Erie, PA 16504.
