Loving Husband, Father and known to his grandchildren as GaGa Nicholas C. Chiocco, age 66, of Millcreek passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his residence. Born June 28, 1946 in Erie he was the son of the late Frank and Antoinette Cifelli Chiocco. Nick was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard. He worked at Bucyrus Erie as a crane operator before he worked at Hammermill. Most recently he worked as a custodian for the Millcreek School District at West Lake Middle School. He belonged to the Siebenbuerger Club and was a former member of the CYS Club. Nick was an avid Raiders fan, enjoyed going to the Blue Angel shows, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Chiocco as well as his mother and father-in-law, Marie and Vincent "Fuzzy" Gardner. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gayle Gardner Chiocco; two sons, Jason M. Chiocco, wife Lisa and Joshua M. Chiocco, wife Julie both of Fairview; five grandchildren, Noah, Adam and Sophia Chiocco, and Jackson and Joey Chiocco; brother-in-law Tom Gardner, wife Michelle, sister-in-law, Wendy Darr, brother-in-law, Vinie Gardner, sister-in-law Cindy Heberlein, husband Jeff, brother-in-law, Niki Gardner and sister-in-law, Kelly Spencer. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard. Services will be held there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full military rites.
