William H. (Bill) Berry of Erie, formerly of Oil City, passed away January 16, 2013 following a lingering illness. He was born in Titusville, Pa., the son of the late, Hazard and Ruth McCandless Berry, of Oil City. He married the former Marjorie Lauer of Oil City who survives. He was a graduate of Oil City High School. He served in the US Army- Air Corp. during WW II in the Pacific Theater. He was a life member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. He is survived also by his son, Harold Berry; sister-in-law, Karen McMillin Dunmire (George); nephews, George M. Dunmire (Jennifer), Erik Balodis, Tom Berry (Karen); great nieces and nephews, James and Caitlyn Balodis and Dylan and Maggie Dunmire. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, James Michael Berry; two infant daughters; a precious niece, Suzanne Dunmire Balodis; a brother, Frank Berry; and niece, Susan Berry. He was self employed in the poultry business; owning a large farm near Tippery, Pa. He drove a school bus for the Oil City area schools. Upon moving to Erie, he retired from Hammermill Paper Co. and became a courier for Marine Bank/PNC. Services will be private handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
