Betty B. (Borkowski) Schwartz passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley M. Schwartz, grandson, James (Jimbo) Schwartz, four brothers, Joe, Chester, Vincent and Raymond Borkowski and two sisters, Jean (Cliff) Caldwell, and Theresa (Frank) Winarski. Survivors are eldest son, Ronald Schwartz and his wife Dena, daughter, BJ Zonna, Serrins and her husband Paul, son, James Schwartz and youngest daughter, Cindy Hickey and her husband, Tom, three sisters, Laura Benecki, Anne Marie (George) Dardenne and Rose (Norb) Rydzewski. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was a lifetime member of the Third Street Polish Falcons, Nest 610 and, at one time, served as President of the Woman's Auxiliary. She was a founding member of St. Luke's Church, Erie, Pa. and worked for over thirty years at Erie City Hall. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her "She-She's." The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received as a resident of Brevillier Village, where they referred to her as "Beautiful Betty". Friends and family will be received at St. Luke's Church, 421 E. 38th Street, on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. followed by a private ceremony at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
