Donald G. Ripple, age 83, of Summit Township, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at UPMC Hamot. Born in New Bethlehem, Pa., on January 28, 1929, he was a son of the late Elisha and Winifred (Goble) Ripple. After high school, he worked for Idaho Forest Service, and later, was employed at General Electric. He was a self-employed plumber and was the owner of Ripple Plumbing and Heating. He also did the plumbing for several water parks throughout the U.S. with Aquatic Pools and did the plumbing for Splash Lagoon. Donald was a professional archer and co-founder of the Presque Isle Archers. He enjoyed casinos, hunting and traveling. He enjoyed being with family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. (Scheafnocker) Ripple, in 2002, two sisters, Betty Arda Cannon and Ruth Cleon Sardi, and two brothers, Elisha Ripple, Jr. and Albert Ripple. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Haenel, husband Don, of Fairview and Kelly Mazanowski, husband Keith, of Summit Township; a son, Ron Ripple, wife Ellen Young, of Perth, Australia; two granddaughters, Dawn Teresi, husband Brian, of Millcreek, and Danyle Felmlee-Cornell, husband Shawn, of Fairview; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jocelyn Teresi and Morgan Felmlee; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. until the time of a service at 8 p.m. Donald's family would like to thank the people at Golden Livings Walnut Creek and a special thanks to Danielle, his nurse on 2nd Shift.
