Irene Everett Janke, age 97, of Erie, went peacefully home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Millcreek Manor. She was born in Erie on July 10, 1915, daughter of the late Harold and Lillian Coy Everett. She was a lifelong Erie resident. Irene was an avid bowler until the age of 92 with The Breakfast Club League, which she formed in 1962 at Eastland Bowling Lanes. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing 3-card poker at the casino tables and had also sung with the Sweet Adelines. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church. The widow of Chester Janke, Irene was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Dolph. Survivors include two sons, Arthur Janke (Judi) of Fairview and David Janke (Linda) of Erie; four daughters, Judy Hewett (Donald), Janet Ames (Larry), Jean Bleil (Kenneth) and Joan Parks (Michael) all of Erie; a son-in-law, Gary Dolph of Harborcreek; 32 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren. The Janke Family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care from the staff at Millcreek Manor and the Asera Care Hospice staff who became an extension of the Janke Family in just a few days with their loving and compassionate care of Irene on her final journey home. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., West, 536 West 10th Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Simpson United Methodist Church, West 21st and Sassafras Streets.
