Sperry Clark Hogue, 65, passed away January 20, 2013. He spent most of his life as a missionary in Glenrothes, Scotland, and as a devoted minister in Hermitage, Pa., for the Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose passion was the Lord and teaching His Word. Sperry authored two books: "I'm Ok Because He's Ok" and "Portraits of the Christ." He believed the greatest achievement was his family. Sperry touched many lives while on this earth and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Gail Paxton Hogue, two children, Nathan Hogue (Stacey) and Kristen Renwick (John Anthony), an adopted son, Joe Herrmann, three grandsons, and siblings Clifford J. Hogue, Jr. (Jeanne) of Hawaii, Dr. Mark Hogue (Becky) of Edinboro, Pa., and Carolyn Eller (Keith) of Erie, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Carolyn Hogue, and by a brother, John Hogue. Family and friends are invited to call at the John Flynn Funeral Home 2630 East State Street, Hermitage, Pa. on Thursday, January 24, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., and attend the funeral service there on Friday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. The family asks that any donations be made to the Church of Christ in Hermitage, Pa., which will enable them to honor Sperry's legacy by sharing his book "Portraits of the Christ" with people throughout the world.
