Marie Phillips Buttice, age 92, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge. She was born in Erie on May 15, 1920, a daughter of the late John and Nardina Petrucelli Phillips. After graduating from Strong Vincent High School, she worked at the John Phillips Insurance Agency, Palmisano Groceries, and most recently at the Pennsylvania State Lottery, as a Regional Administrator, until she retired. She was a life member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and was a member of St. Peter Cathedral. She played in the Women's Bocci League and loved playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael Buttice, in 2005, a son Michael Buttice, at birth, a daughter Michele Hertel, in 1995, and a sister Elizabeth "Lisa" Grignol. She is survived by a daughter Janet Mayberry, husband Jack; six grandchildren, Jack, Jennifer (Jeff), Jillian, Heather (Jim), Michael (Brenda) and Aaron. She is further survived by nine great-grandchildren, Collin, Jack, Anna, Quinn, Allie, Breanna, Jameson, Sofia and Braelyn. Services were private at St. Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge, with entombment in Calvary Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
