Clarence A. Gwin, age 92, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Ball Pavilion at Brevillier Village. He was born in Erie, Pa. on September 30, 1920, son of the late Arthur and Mabel Delles Gwin. Prior to serving in the U.S. Army as an intelligence observer during WWII, Clarence worked at Western Union, a bakery and General Electric. Following his enlistment, he was an Erie Coach Co. and an EMTA driver for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and VFW Post #470. Preceded in death by his wife, Jean Gwin, Clarence is survived by two daughters, Susan Wingard of East Springfield, Pa. and Carol Johnson (James) of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Rodney Wingard of Erie, Jimmy Wingard (Brenda) of Girard, Debbie Sandell (Bill) of Springboro, Pa, Brian Johnson of Gilbert, Arizona and Lori Zweig (Brian) of Dallas, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. David A. Laakso officiating. Interment, Erie County Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by VFW Post #470.
