Richard Z. Taft, 86, of Millcreek, passed away Friday February 8, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East following a brief illness. A resident of Erie most of his life he was born in Erie on December 3, 1926 a son of the late Raymond R. and Mae Bossler Taft. Richard graduated from Gannon College where he earned a B.S. in Accounting. He worked with United Midwest International Group in Cincinnati, Ohio and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoyed horse racing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph B. Taft. Survivors include his wife Theresa Kuzma Taft; two daughters, Tammy Taft and her friend Carl Swartznager of Meadville and Tracy Kremer of Pittsburgh; two sons, Theodore Taft of Kentucky and Randall Taft and his wife Shelly of North Carolina; one brother, Robert F. Taft of Erie; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be private and are being made by the Russell C.
