Doris Blattner, 80 of Findlay, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior at Sunrise, Findlay, Ohio at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was born on April 7, 1932 in Scranton, Pa. to the late Albert and Mary (James) Lazar. She married Rev. David A. Blattner on July 7, 1955 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. who survives. Doris Blattner is also survived by a son, David Blattner (Julie) of McKinney, Texas and a daughter, Deborah (John) Oman of Rawson, Ohio; four grandchildren, Joshua (Brianna) and Abigail Blattner, John and Justin Oman. A sister, Grace (Charles) Scheid of Flower Mound, Texas. She was a member of Gateway Church, Findlay. She graduated from Chester High School and West Chester State Teachers College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Music. She has been a Music and Choral teacher in the following Pennsylvania School Districts: Chichester, Honesdale, Tyrone, Glassport, Elizabeth-Forward, and First Assembly Christian Academy, Erie. In Ohio, she continued her love for music at Christian Life Academy in Ashtabula and Bethel Christian Academy in Parma. She was the Choir Director at the Assembly of God churches her husband pastored in Pennsylvania at Paradise Valley, Tyrone, McKeesport, Carlisle and in Ohio at First Assembly, Ashtabula and Bethel Temple, Parma. Doris was a woman of great faith who had a great heart for all the people she met. She loved teaching Sunday School, Bible Studies, singing, playing the piano and trips with her husband. She had a special love for all her grandchildren and prayed for them constantly that they would love and serve the Lord. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, Ohio, with Pastor Ben Borsay officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery, Eagle Township. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, and two hours (1:00-3:00 p.m.) prior to the service on Saturday, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home.
