Jason Wayne Morton, 33, went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven, on February 12, 2013. He was born on May 23, 1979 in Erie. Jason is the son of Stoney Morton, of Erie, and Gayle Morton, of Pleasantville, Pa. He graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1999 and attended Mercyhurst and Edinboro Universities. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nephew, and friends, and he enjoyed photography, hunting, and was an active member of his church, with a passion for God. Jason was blessed to have many wonderful friends and a loving, caring family by his side. He was extremely proud of his brother and cousins serving in the U.S. Army. Jason is survived by his parents; his brother Chad Morton, stationed with the U.S. Army in Pooler, Ga., Chad's wife Kelly, and nephew Brayden; his grandparents, Helen Wooten of Rome, Ga., and Arwon and Beverly Chamberlin of Pleasantville, Pa.; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Wooten, Uncle Layne Morton, several great-grandparents and cousin Penny Brighton. Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at New Vision Church, 1761 W. 26th St., Erie, Pa., on Monday, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Chuck Riel, of Pleasantville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
