Ursula "Rose" Dever, age 78, of Erie passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Saint Vincent Health Center. She was born June 29, 1934 in Grosse Kruchen, West Germany, the daughter of the late Gustav and Frieda (Reiger) Schober. A longtime resident of Erie, Ursula was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and loved to cook and entertain for family and friends. She enjoyed listening to Italian and German music and working outdoors in her garden. She loved to follow the local sports teams and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Ursula enjoyed going to garage sales and was considered by her family as the original "American Picker". Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters who had all lived in Germany. Ursula is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert F. Dever, Sr. She is the loving mother of Kevin Dever and his wife Debra of Fontana, Calif.; Rebecca Macrino and her husband Jim of Erie; Michelle Wieczorek and her husband Rob of Erie; Sandra Tadlock and her husband Richard of Charlotte, N.C.; Susan Ramsey and her husband Steve of Erie and Robert Dever, Jr. and his wife Erin of Erie. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her 11 grandchildren and her beloved and trusted companion, her dog Tipper. Ursula's family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Golden Living Center-Western Reserve and also Saint Vincent Health Center for the wonderful care their mother received. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Monday at 11:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in St. Andrew Catholic Church.
