Malcolm W. "Kelly" Lewis Obituary
Malcolm W. "Kelly" Lewis, 81, of Oakley Ave., Corry, Pa., and Homosassa, Fla., died on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Legacy House in Ocala, Fla. He was born on July 23, 1931 in Elgin, Pa., a son of the late Richard and Bernice Davis Lewis. Kelly was raised and educated in Elgin, Pa., graduating from Corry High School in 1949. Following graduation, he worked as an auto mechanic for the former Martin Motors and later the former Heberline Dodge, both in Corry. Kelly then served with the US Army from 1952 to 1954 in Germany, during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he returned to Corry and resumed working at Heberline Dodge. In 1963, Kelly began working at McInnes Steel Company. He worked there as a welder for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He had since spent his winters in Homosassa, Fla. Kelly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corry and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and bingo. He also liked spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Kelly was preceded in death on June 21, 1991 by his first wife, Carol J. May Lewis, whom he married on November 11, 1950 in North East, Pa.; two sisters, Evelyn McCray, and Beulah L. Smith; four brothers, Owen, Edward, Charles and Paul Lewis; a granddaughter, Diana Lewis and a great-granddaughter, Bloddueth Tiffany. Kelly is survived by his wife, D. JoAn Weaver Lewis, whom he married on March 6, 1993 in Homosassa, Fla.; a daughter, Darlene A. Lewis of Corry, Pa.; two step-daughters, Dixie Merrit and her husband Randy of Mill Village, Pa., and Pamela Donahue and her husband Mike of Wattsburg, Pa.; a son, Dale A. Lewis and his wife Caren of Corry, Pa.; four step-sons, Rick Weaver and his wife Susan of Erie, Pa., Samuel Weaver of Waterford, Pa., John Weaver and his wife Karen of Erie, Pa., and Craig Marschinke and his wife Christina of San Marcos, Calif.; five sisters, Carriebelle Tompkins of Sherman, N.Y., Dorothy Harrington of Youngsville, Pa., Audrey Allen of Union City, Pa., Patricia Peters and her husband Louis of Union City, Pa., and Sandy Allen and her husband Stanley of Snowflake, Ariz.; and two brothers, Norman Lewis and his wife Bernice of Columbus, Pa., and David Lewis and his wife Judy of Union City, Pa. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelly Tiffany, Erin Waters and Timothy Lewis; five great-grandchildren, many step grand and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.,on Friday from 3-7 p.m. and attend the funeral service there on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. John Zimmerman of the First United Methodist Church, Corry, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 650 Worth St., Corry, PA. 16407.
