Edna Frances Weiser Smith, age 86, of Erie, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at Twinbrook Medical Center. Born in Kane, Pa., February 12, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Pearl Smith Weiser. Edna was a sales representative at Colony Savings Bank. She was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church and was active with the Women's Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, where she served on the board. She was also a board member for the Erie Civic Music Association and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army Day Center, where she was an assistant to the director. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Khlar Smith, who died in 2001. Survivors include a sister, Sharon Wieczorek, husband Michael, of Las Vegas, Nev. and a brother, Lloyd Johnson, wife Linda, of Edmunds, Wa.; two granddaughters, Sabrina Smith and Monica Rodrigues; a niece, Jennifer Wieczorek, of Las Vegas, Nev.; three great-grandchildren and a good friend, Beatrice Hansen. Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 E. 38th St., Tuesday, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and to attend a funeral service there Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Bernhard Bischoff, Pastor of Lamb of God Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, 1022 Liberty St., Erie, PA 16502.
