Henrietta T. Berchtold Berchtold, age 90, of Erie passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in Erie on July 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Fred and Theresa Shadley Berchtold. She was a resident of Niagara Village. She was a graduate of Academy High School and Erie Business Academy. She worked at Sterling Milk Company where she met her husband of 47 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed going to her children and grandchildren's school and sporting events. She enjoyed knitting and cross stitching and puzzles. She was a member of St. John's Parish and Our Lady of Peace Parish. She had an enthusiasm for life and always saw the good in everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Berchtold in 1998, her infant granddaughter, April Pannell, a sister, Anna Mae Matson and a son-in-law William Pannell. She is survived by two daughters Patricia Pannell of Manchester, Tenn., and Susan Fitzgerald and her husband Greg of Erie, two sons John Berchtold, Jr. and his wife Patrice of Erie and Kenneth Berchtold and his wife Patty of Melbourne, Fla., five grandchildren Will Pannell and his wife Shanna of Manchester, Tenn., Jason Berchtold of Vero Beach, Fla., Kelle Berchtold and her fiancé Matthew Schutz, Logan and Amanda Berchtold all of Erie, and a sister, Marie Erstfeld of Erie, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home Inc. at 2502 Sassafras Street, Erie, PA 16502 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 28th and are invited to a service there on Monday morning at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church at 10:30 a.m. Send condolences to www. kloeckerfuneralhome.com.
