Lucian C. Lindholm Obituary
Lucian C. Lindholm, 88 of Elgin Rd., Corry, Pa., died on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his residence. He was born on January 31, 1925 in Brockway, Pa., a son of the late John and Eunice Geer Lindholm. Lucian was raised and educated in Brockway, Pa. As a young man, he served with the United States Army-Air Corp during WW II and was stationed in England. He was a top turret gunner and flight engineer, engaging in 35 flight missions. Lucian later served in the National Guard and retired from the Army Reserves in 1985. Following his discharge from the United States Army-Air Corp., he returned to Brockway for a year and then moved to the Elgin area and has resided in the area since. He worked at Sill Farms for a few years and then began at Corry Jamestown Corp. where he worked for many years until retirement in the mid 1980's. Lucian was a member of the Eureka Lodge #366 in Union City, a member of the Shriners Lodge in Erie. He was also one of the founding members of the Elgin Beaverdam Fire Dept. and was on the board of directors for the Corry Jamestown Credit Union. Lucian was a member of the American Legion Post #0237 in Union City and the VFW Post #264 in Corry. He also enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. In addition to his parents, Lucian was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Carnahan, and a brother Paul Lindholm. Lucian is survived by his wife, Doris M. McCray Lindholm, whom he married on September 18, 1945 in Corry, Pa.; three daughters, Judy Dansk and her husband Erik of Youngsville, Pa., Susan Boyd of Ambridge, Pa., and Nancy Shish and her husband Polo of Reading, Pa..; one brother, Rodney Lindholm and his wife Donna of Brockway, Pa.; six grandchildren, Katrina Minton, Kurt Dansk and his wife Amanda, Christopher Boyd, Laura Boyd, Imix Shish and his wife Farrah and Senovio Shish; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Janet Sill, Lay Minister will officiate. Burial will be at the McCray Cemetery in Concord Twp. Corry, Pa. Memorials may be made to the Elgin Beaverdam Vol. Fire Dept., Box 51, Elgin, PA 16413.
