Clark L. Bacon Obituary
Clark L."Art" Bacon, 85, of Union City, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. Clark was born February 29, 1928, in Corry, Pa. the son of the late Jay and Alice (Newman) Bacon. He attended school in Bloomfield and Corry, Pa. He was a veteran of World War II, and served in the United States Army with an Honorable Discharge. He also fought in two different Golden Gloves Associations, for 57 bouts, losing only his first bout, saying" that was for practice." He was an avid hunter, hunting bear in Canada, and fishing. He bred champion coon dogs and top beagles. He enjoyed flowers, gardening, and planting fruit trees. He had an amazing green thumb, but most of all he loved all his little ones, they were his pride and joy. He worked in construction at Hardener and Doyle Construction Co. before retiring. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles, Fred, Ted, Willis "Bill", Robert and Donnie and five sisters, Lillian Nichols, Bette King, Bonnie Miller, Violet Vosburgh, and Velma Gariepy, four sons, Ralph, Kevin, Clark and Craig Bacon. Survivors include his wife Marjorie (Barber) Bacon of Union City, Pa., whom he married on August 19, 1953 in Pascagoula, Miss. Daughters Marjorie Beach and her husband Richard of Pleasantville, Pa., Cathy Wysocki and her companion Ronnie Ingles of Union City, Pa. and Melinda Fisher and her finace' Scot Osborne, of Lewisberry, Pa., sons Jay Bacon and his wife Martha of Freeport, Texas, Randy Bacon and his wife Sheila of Olean, N.Y., Scott Bacon and his wife Cindy of Union City, Pa. and Brian Bacon and his companion Millie of Lebanon, Indiana, a sister Lois Kane and a brother Ray Bacon and his wife Karen all of Hornell, N.Y., a loving sister-in-law, Dorothy Adams of Union City, Pa., and a brother-in-law, Bill Barber of Sacremento,Calif. 20 Grandchildren, 57 Great Grandchildren, and 12 Great Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two very special friends, Frank Wojecki and Don Merritt. Clark fought a long and courageous battle but he is now resting in peace. Friends will be received at the Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend funeral services there on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David Barber and Rev. Trevor Brubaker will officiate with interment in Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam, Pa.
