E. Grace Hoover Obituary
E. Grace Hoover, age 92, passed away Friday morning, May 31, 2013 at the Ball Pavilion. She had resided in Harborcreek Township. She was born in Eddyville, Pa., September 21, 1920, a daughter of the late Wilbert N. and Vera G. Gahagan Rugh. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hileman L. Hoover, who passed away August 20, 1997, two daughters Christal Davis and Kimberly Worrell, two brothers Glenn and John Rugh and three sisters Pauline Ishman, Marjorie Boyer and Josephine Fisher., and a son-in-law Jeffrey Davis. She is survived by her daughter Carol Slocum and her husband Kenneth of Harborcreek, Pa., two sons Dennis Hoover and his wife Jean of Wildwood, Mo., and Douglas Hoover of Hummelstowm, Pa. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her sister June Sherry, her son-in-law Don Worrell and many nieces and nephews. Grace was a 50 year member of the Shiloh Chapter # 153 Order of the Eastern Star, North East Chapter. She was a longtime member of the South Harborcreek United Methodist Church. After their retirement, Grace and her husband Hileman wintered in Deland, Florida. Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home, 4396 Iroquois Avenue, Lawrence Park, Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the South Harborcreek United Methodist Church, Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Order of the Eastern Star will hold a service Monday at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the South Harborcreek United Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the South Harborcreek United Methodist Church, 7929 McGill Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421.
