Daniel B. Hibner, 71, Erie, passed away Monday, Apr. 1, 2013, at the Erie VA Medical Center. He was born in DuBois on Jan. 27, 1942. He was the son of the late Delos E. Hibner II and Helen Landis Hibner. He attended Second Avenue Grade School and Dubois Junior high School. He was a 1960 graduate of DuBois Area High School, where he was on the wrestling team and played football. He enlisted in the United States Army in November 1960. He had training at Fort Knox, K.Y., and Fort Gordon, Ga. After training, he was stationed at Thule, Greenland and Fort Richie, Md., as a military policeman. He was discharged in November 1963. He attended Robert Morris Jr. College in 1964 and 1965. He moved to Erie in 1966 and lived there until his death. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum from 1966 to 1997. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting guns. He enjoyed watching high school and college wrestling and watching college and pro football. He belonged to the American Legion in Erie and Gem City Gun Clubs. He survived by one daughter Debra L. Hibner of California, one brother Richard K. Hibner of Harrisburg, a sister-in-law, Jane Hibner of DuBois and many nieces of nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Delos E. Hibner III and David L. Hibner.
