Lyle E. Dorman, age 79, of Waterford and formerly of 9441 Lake Pleasant Road, passed away unexpectedly at his son's home on Friday, August 30, 2013. He was born in Amity Twp. on September 9, 1933, a son of the late Lyle A. and Zelah Bacon Dorman.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. During his working years he was a self-employed electrical contractor and was a past member of the St. Boniface Ushers Club.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Fitzsimmons Dorman in 2002; one son, John Dorman; two brothers, Charles and Laverne Dorman; and one sister, Marjorie Meyers.

He is survived by three sons, C. David (Julie) Dorman of Asheville, N.Y., Bill (Patty) Dorman of Waterford and Don (Jennine) Dorman of Wattsburg with whom he lived; two daughters, Kelly (Edward) Giewont of Wattsburg and Karla (Jack) Edwards of West Springfield, Pa. Lyle is further survived by nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were private with interment in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Arrangements were under the care of the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, PA 16504.
