Riccardo J. Liberatore age 81, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Erie on October 14, 1931 a son of the late Giovanni and Lucia Liberatore.

He graduated from Strong Vincent High School and then went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Riccardo retired from the United States Postal Service after 26 years.

He enjoyed golf, billiards, bowling, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Anthony, Petro, and Vincent Liberatore, and his sisters, YolaLiberatore, Kay White, Jay D'Sarro, Florence Ponteraro and Hilda D'Santis.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norene Stevens Liberatore; two daughters, Carla Rupp and her husband John of Erie and Gina Liberatore-Fichena also of Erie; two grandchildren, Nicole and Brian Krame and a sister, Mary Sabatine. He is further survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be held.
