Douglas A. Hogg, age 62, of Mill Village, Pa. passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Greenville, Pa. on December 15, 1950 to Rolland and Alice Hogg.

Doug attended Lakeview High School in Stoneboro, Pa. and joined the U.S. Navy in 1969, serving during the Vietnam War. Douglas married Marilyn Breauchy of Fredonia, Pa. in 1972 and they had two children.

Before retiring in July of 2013, Doug had been employed in the meat industry for 40 years.

Doug enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his flower gardens, bird watching, and being with his family and friends. Doug was a very hardworking man, always ready to lend a hand to someone in need.

Doug is survived in death by his wife of 41 years, Marilyn Hogg; his daughter, Rozlyn Cidor and her two daughters, Michaela and Madison, of Mill Village; his son, Ryan Hogg and daughter-in-law, Stacey, of Raleigh, N.C. He is also survived in death by his siblings: Roberta Brocklehurst of Jackson Center, Pa., Mrs. Paul (Jean) Mitchell of Fredonia, Pa., John Hogg of West Middlesex, Pa., and Mrs. Kenneth (Ronda) McConnell of Butler, Pa.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Alice Hogg; and his sister, Joan Mandell of Mercer, Pa.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mill Village United Methodist Church, 14525 S. Main Street in Mill Village, Pa. at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6th, 2013.
