Clinton E. Smith, age 84, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Forestview Healthcare Center at Springhill. He was born on November 24, 1928, in Cowansville, Pa., son of the late Merle I. and Zella Shearer Smith.

Clinton was a 1947 graduate of Youngsville High School and a 1962 graduate of Gannon University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Clinton retired from the Aerospace Business of General Electric in 1988 after 42 years of service, mainly in Accounting. A member of over 40 years of Lawrence Park United Methodist Church, he was also a charter member of the Men's Association, and was a member of Carl Neff Post #571 of the American Legion.

Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Palmer Smith; and a brother, Merle Smith, Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Davis (Mark) and Diane McMillen (Richard); five grandchildren: Kelley Baumann (Eric), Katie McMillen (Brian Kaminski), Lauren Place (Jeff), Craig Davis (Kathleen) and Eric Davis (Dani Weyand); and four great-grandchildren: T.R., Elyse and Lyla Baumann and Paige Place.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held at Lawrence Park United Methodist Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
