Joseph B. Fasenmyer, age 83, of Millcreek Township, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013. He was born in New Bethlehem, Pa. on August 27, 1930, son of the late Aloysius and Margaret Meisinger Fasenmyer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Elder Fasenmyer. They were married in Erie in 1951.
He served in the U.S. Army for four years during the Korean War
. Joe was an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Lawrence Park where he sang in the choir. He worked for many years at General Electric in Lawrence Park and retired from Renold Inc. in Westfield, N.Y. in 1992. Joe enjoyed bowling with his friends at Eastway Lanes and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.
He is survived by his children, Joseph J. Fasenmyer and Christine of Millcreek, Sheri (Fasenmyer) Rougeux and David Jr. of Erie, Jeffrey Fasenmyer and Diane of San Antonio, Texas, and Joshua Fasenmyer and Lisa of North East, Pa. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer, Jason, Mary, David, Joel, Jeremy, Zachary, Elizabeth and Brian; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Mackenzie and Sophia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Jerry Fasenmyer; his sister, Patricia Arment; and brother, Aloysius Fesenmyer.

Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home, 4396 Iroquois Avenue, Lawrence Park, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday morning at St. Mark the Evangelist Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
