William B. "Willie" Estela, 51, of Fairview, died Wednesday, November 15, 2013 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Fairview.
He was born May 20, 1962 in West Islip, New York, a son of Rosa A. Vazquez Estela of Aventura, Fla. and the late Enrique E. Estela.
Willie graduated from the West Islip High School, N.Y. in 1980. He later lived in Coronado, Calif. and various communities within the San Diego area for many years. He attained a 6th degree black belt status in martial arts and participated in numerous competitions nationwide. While living in San Diego he was a Junior Yachtsman for Coronado Kays Yacht Club. Willie was known throughout San Diego for his craftsmanship with granite and stone.
In 2009 he moved to the Fairview, Pa. area. He was hired by Lake City Manufactured Homes for his expertise and management skills to develop and supervise the Granite and Stone Department.
He was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hike and camp with his family. He attended New Beginnings Full Gospel Church in Fairview.
He was preceded in death by his father, Enrique E. Estela November 9, 1992.
Willie will be greatly missed by his family, which in addition to his mother, includes his fiancé, Shannon L. Sullivan-Peevler of Fairview; three daughters, Tina A. Estela and Tanya R. Estela from a previous marriage, both of Long Island, N.Y., Sierra R. Sullivan of Fairview; a son, Shawn W. Sullivan-Estela of Fairview; two sisters, Rosa Estela-Flint (Michael) of Titusville, Fla., Migdalia E. Estela of Hallendale, Fla.; two brothers, Enrique "Rick" Estela (Joni) of Hollywood, Fla., Edgar M. Estela (Dawn) of Erie and also many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours observed.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday (TODAY) at New Beginnings Full Gospel Church, 7195 W. Ridge Rd., Fairview, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Paul Friend officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the William Estela Memorial Fund, C/O Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard, PA 16417.
