John W. White, age 77, of Millcreek, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Twinbrook Medical Center. He was born in Punxsutawney, Pa. on February 28, 1936, son of the late James and Katherine White, Sr.
John was a member of Laborers Union # 603 and was employed at Mayer Brothers for 30 years, prior to retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post #571 and the National Club. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and playing the Pennsylvania Lottery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force
John was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce White, and one daughter, Karen Willey.
He is survived by three sons, Dale (Sandy), Thomas (Christine), and William White (fiancé, Elaine); three daughters, Kim Dillon (Matt), Kathy Fuller (Rick), Sherry Work (Bill); one brother, James White, one sister, Carol Krivonak; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 10 a.m. A full military service will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, conducted by the Carl Neff Post # 571.
