Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend
Ronald M. Potter, age 45, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at his residence, following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on May 27, 1968, the son of the late Robert and Rita Noyes Potter.
Ron was a 1986 graduate of the former Academy High School. He worked for Shoreline construction, and as a painter with Lewis Painting Co. Most recently, Ron worked at St. Mary's East, as a security officer. He was a member of the VFW
Post 3390 and South Erie Turners.
Ron enjoyed hunting on his property in Clarion County; and doing karate for many years. Ron was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Chicago Cubs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Steve Moffatt.
Survivors include three sisters, Margo North, (Charles), Janet Scofield, Terry Soliwoda (Timothy); two brothers, Patrick Eccles (Laura), Robert Potter (Mary), one aunt, Sheryl Umpleby and one uncle, Harry "Bud" Noyes. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Billy, Raymond, Shirley and Rebecca Moffatt, Amanda, Gregory, Brandi and Tess North, TJ and Tori Scofield, Tommy and Denny Hinkler, Mike and Dave Wander, Steve, TJ, Nikolis Soliwoda, AnnMarie and Veronica Potter. Many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many cherished friends also survive.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from noon until the time of the Funeral Service at there at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Richard Moyer. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be designated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1001 State St., Suite 502, Erie, PA 16501.
