Marshall Duaine Thompson Jr. Obituary

Marshall Duaine Thompson, Jr., age 59, of Erie, died unexpectedly, of natural causes, Saturday, March 1, 2014. Born in Erie, May 23, 1954, he was a son of Jean (Onorato) Thompson and the late Marshall Thompson, Sr.

Marshall was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the war in Vietnam. He later attended Gannon College and Edinboro University, where he earned an engineering degree. He retired from STERIS after 25 years of service. Marshall was a member of the VFW Post #470 and the Knights of St. John. He was an avid Cleveland Browns football fan and enjoyed cooking. His pizza and pepperoni balls will be missed by many. He also loved to travel and to garden. He loved music and was friends with many people. Enough can't be said about his generosity to his family and friends, who will all miss him. He was always there for anyone in need.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Frank Robinson; brother-in-law, Louis Nadeau and stepbrother, Leo Robinson.

He is survived by his mother; two daughters, Angela Thompson (Charles), of Erie and Stacey Mitchell (Josh), of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Mia Baker, Kieran Bartlett and Samantha Mitchell; two sisters, Sheila Thompson and Eileen Nadeau, both of Erie; a brother, Dennis Thompson, wife Marlene, of Greenville, S.C.; two stepbrothers, Eric Robinson and Frank Robinson, wife Toni; a stepsister, Patricia Crawford.
