Paul Allison "Alley" Weldon, Jr., 67, passed away February 26, 2014, at his home in West Springfield, Pa. Alley, the son of Paul Allison and Verna I. (Hills) Weldon, was born on March 15, 1946, in Conneaut, Ohio.

Alley graduated from Northwestern High School in Albion, Pa., in 1964. In high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society and very active in sports. He represented Northwestern HS in the annual Erie Shriners Save-an-Eye football game. Following graduation, he attended Colorado State University where he played football. In 1967, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent four years during the Vietnam War as an ordinance man on the USS Ranger, stationed out of San Francisco, Calif. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to school and graduated from Pennsylvania State University. He worked for several years as a sales representative for a milk marketing cooperative. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW in Albion, Pa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.

Survivors include his brother, Richard (Terri Harper) Weldon and two nephews, Brett and Cory Weldon, of Gainesville, Fla., and a number of distant relatives.

Alley was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held in May under the direction of the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, which has charge of arrangements.
